Construction Site Discussion

If you haven’t yet selected a lot for your new home, Stonebuilt will guide you through site evaluation and selection to ensure the land you choose supports your vision, your budget, and your long-term plans.

Once you’re ready to begin the planning phase, our design team will start by providing a detailed questionnaire. This helps you clearly imagine how you want your home to feel and function, while also prompting important considerations that will shape the design meeting.

We then schedule a design kick-off session, where you’ll meet with the Stonebuilt designer, draftsman, and project manager. Together, we’ll explore how you and your family live day to day, what architectural style speaks to you, and which features or elements are essential to your lifestyle.

Using the insight gathered — along with your building priorities and budget — we guide the drafting process to ensure every concept is both inspiring and achievable. You’ll have the opportunity to review and approve detailed floorplans, elevations, and exterior renderings before finalizing your vision.

Once the design is complete, we provide you with the final architectural blueprints — a clear, precise roadmap for building your custom Stonebuilt home.

Specification Review & Budget Development

Once your home plans are finalized, we guide you through a detailed, plan-specific specification survey tailored to your design. During this stage, we’ll walk you through Stonebuilt’s construction standards, explore available options, and help you understand the impact each selection has on performance, aesthetics, and long-term value.

Using the information gathered in the survey, our team prepares a comprehensive budget that includes supporting labour and material quotes specific to your project. We then review the budget together, line by line, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with your goals.

From there, we refine specifications as needed based on your feedback — ensuring the final plan reflects both your vision and your financial comfort level.

Contract, Permitting & Project Scheduling

Once you're ready to move forward, Stonebuilt prepares a clear, comprehensive contract that outlines every aspect of your custom home build. After the agreement is signed and the initial deposit is received, our team begins the behind-the-scenes work that sets your project in motion.

Whether you prefer to be highly involved—reviewing materials, choosing details, and visiting the site—or you’d rather lean on our team’s expertise for suggestions and direction, we adapt the process to your comfort level. Throughout the build, Stonebuilt’s project manager oversees coordination between site supervisors, trades, and suppliers to keep the project on schedule and on budget. Every step is monitored, documented, and executed with precision.

To keep you fully informed, we use advanced builder software to track selections, approvals, budgets, and scheduling. You’ll have access to your personal online portal at any time, allowing you to review progress, see upcoming tasks, approve choices, and communicate with our team. Each month, you’ll receive a detailed budget update outlining actual costs versus projected amounts—ensuring full transparency from start to finish.

Completion & Turnover

As your home nears completion, we’ll provide you with a confirmed possession date so you can plan with confidence. Prior to move-in, we conduct a comprehensive walk-through with you and your site supervisor, reviewing every room and every detail to ensure the finishing quality meets both your expectations and our own uncompromising standards.

On possession day, we present your full turnover package, which includes all relevant documentation, warranty information, operating instructions, and details on the systems within your home. We take the time to walk you through each component so you feel fully informed and supported from day one.

Then comes the best part — moving in.
At this point, your custom home becomes your family’s new beginning, and you officially become part of the Stonebuilt family.
